The position of small romantic hotel The Charles in Prague is perfect, in the historic Prague Lesser Town, between the Old Town and Prague Castle, just 100 meters from The Charles Bridge, which is jewel of the Gothic architecture in Prague.

This stone bridge was built by the Charles IV (the Czech King And Holy Roman Emperor).
Architecturally interesting medieval building of The Charles hotel in Prague is original gothic residential house from the middle of 13th century. It replaced former defensive ditch and ramparts, which are still preserved in the basement.
House was burned down during Hussite wars in 15th century and than renewed in 1503.
In the second half of 16th century expensive renovation in Renaissance style took place. 3rd floor was build in 1686 in Baroque style (portal with transform light from Josefska street and hotel patrons - Lions masks from the Mostecka street are in Baroque style too). The Charles hotel in Prague was built in 1890 and had its last Renovation in 1997.

There is a lift in the building.

There is also Restaurant on the ground floor of the Prague Hotel The Charles, where buffet breakfast is served.
